anthem of hope

Last Thursday, I captured one of our days with 12 photos. I watched holiday concerts and felt gratitude that working from home let me be there. The next morning, after putting the kids on the bus, the baby and I went to our weekly play group, where we laughed and played, with other families from our safe town.

Driving home, I heard the news.

And it feels too close because the families are so much like mine.

But in those 26 beautiful faces, we should see the reflection of many more.

Innocent and lost.

Near and far. Same and different.

As I take in the sight and sound and weight of my children across my heart, I hope that's what I remember.
