the right words

Me: So I signed myself up for a writing class.

Him: How much did it cost?

I stepped out of our embrace to look up at him, like I might have been hugging the wrong guy. If you've been here before, you already know I think he's close to perfect.

I was surprised at his initial reaction. But I don't fault him for it.

One of our greatest strengths as partners is never pretending to be more super than human. We don't expect it of ourselves and we don't expect it of one another.

But we do hope for each others victories. This is a leap for me; he knows that. And when you want your loved one to know only the sweet and gentle victories, the words can come out wrong.

So for the next couple of weeks, I'll be looking for the right words

I hope I can bring some of them here.
